« The Population Cluster in the Dept of Social Policy will be making up to 3 nominations for quota awards from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for excellent students, either : 1+3 award : one year’s funding for an MSc providing ESRC recognised research training (MSc Social Research Methods : Population), followed by three years’ funding for doctoral research. or +3 award : three years’ funding for doctoral research (To qualify for this route you must already have, or be completing, an ESRC-recognised research training MSc) For students planning to do Advanced Quantitative Methods (AQM), we are able to consider nominations regardless of nationality, for both 1+3 and +3 awards, which will include both fees and stipend. The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) provides studentships for the support of full-time or part-time postgraduate courses to promote and support high-quality basic, strategic and applied research and related postgraduate training in the Social Sciences. »
