We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Research Fellow to work on the Migrating out of Poverty Research Programme Consortium (RPC), funded by the UK’s Department for International Development and coordinated by the University of Sussex. The position will be for 2 years.
You will be based at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore(NUS), Singapore, and will have the chance to work with an international team of migration scholars on various existing migration cluster projects in the institute (see http://www.ari.nus.edu.sg/article_view.asp ?id=198 for more information).
AREA OF EXPERTISE
The successful candidate will be someone who holds a PhD degree (or is awaiting conferment) and has research interests and expertise in Migration Studies, Poverty Reduction, Policy and/or Development Studies in the Southeast Asian region.
The candidate should preferably have research experience in the area of migration and poverty in Southeast Asia, as well as expertise in managing multi-country research (both questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews). Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis is highly desirable. The candidate must be familiar with questionnaire design, sampling methodology in the context of Asia, and must be fluent in both spoken and written Bahasa Indonesian or Javanese.
