"The African Population & Health Research Center (APHRC) is an international non-profit, nongovernmental
organization committed to conducting high quality and policy relevant research on population, health, education and development issues facing sub-Saharan Africa. APHRC seeks to recruit an Associate Research Scientist to support two of its programs on 1) the Measurement, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) of the Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (URHI) being implemented in urban areas of Kenya, Nigeria and Senegal ; and 2) Meeting the Unmet Need for Family Planning and Improving Access to Safe Abortion Services, being implemented in Kenya, Ghana and Senegal. The first program is using state-of-the-art methods to evaluate the impact of the URHI on modern contraceptive use and examine other related questions. The second program seeks to produce high-quality evidence to improve the health of the poorest individuals -particularly women- and accelerate progress towards poverty reduction and achievement of Millennium Development Goals 4 & 5."
