« Both PhD projects are part of the larger Starting Grant project of Helga de Valk funded by the European Research Council (ERC) entitled »Families of migrant origin : a life course perspective« (FaMiLife). This project aims to advance understanding of the factors that shape the individual life course of migrants and their descendants, its consequences for family relations in migrant families and its link between demographic change in the country of settlement and origin. The project will draw from recent quantitative datasets potentially also including register data. »
