Résumé du projet de thèse
The doctoral research aims to explore the links between extreme temperature exposure and common mental disorders among women living in climate-vulnerable communities of Bangladesh. The research aims to : (1) identify existing theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence explaining these links, (2) assess the association between extreme-temperature exposure and common mental disorders such as anxiety and depression using longitudinal data, (3) examine both direct and indirect pathways between heat and mental distress using a mixed-methods design, and (4) assess the economic burden of climate-induced mental health issues from a patient’s perspective. Ultimately, the research seeks to inform policy and guide the design of cost-effective, community-based mental health interventions in response to climate change.
